"Lichen Zhu （Mmatcha）is an illustrator and graphic designer based in Shanghai, China. She graduated from the Lu Xun Academy of Fine Arts and completed her postgraduate studies at Sheffield Hallam University.

Her drawing inspiration derives from a variety of plants and daily life experiences. In terms of her illustration style, she is passionate about exploring themes related to light, shadow, architecture, and characters. She employs a rich palette of tones, whimsical characters, and a cheerful aesthetic to tell captivating stories."
